Het voorrecht van de nieuwtestamentische kerk boven de oudtestamentische is dat zij op de wederkomst na mag staan achter de heilsfeiten en mag weten van de Heere Jezus Christus als Middelaar Die zit aan de rechterhand van de Vader en Die volkomen zalig maakt allen die door Hem tot God naderen. De nieuwtestamentische kerk kent niet alleen de ambtsnaam van de Middelaar, namelijk Christus, maar ook Zijn persoonsnaam: Jezus. Die naam maakt ons duidelijk dat de Zoon van God naar deze wereld kwam om zondaren te redden en met dat werk gaat Hij tot aan Zijn wederkomst door op grond van het werk dat Hij op aarde volbracht.
De anglicaanse predikant en gezangendichter schreef een prachtig gezang over de naam Jezus dat ik graag op deze weblog doorgeef.
Jesus, the Name high over all,
in hell or earth or sky;
angels and mortals prostrate fall,
and devils fear and fly.
Jesus, the Name to sinners dear,
the Name to sinners giv’n;
it scatters all their guilty fear,
it turns their hell to heav’n.

O that the world might taste and see
the riches of His grace!
The arms of love that compass me
would all the world embrace.
Thee I shall constantly proclaim,
tho’ earth and hell oppose;
bold to confess Thy glorious Name
before a world of foes.

to cry, “Behold the Lamb!”
